Sattler: Hate and violence against women have no place in London

LONDON – NDP MPP Peggy Sattler (London West) released the following statement in response to violent anti-women graffiti in London:

“The hateful graffiti promoting violence against women that appeared in London is horrifying and unacceptable. Women and girls deserve to feel safe in their communities without fear of harassment or harm.

“Londoners are feeling shaken by this incident, and it shows how dangerous attitudes toward women can take root and escalate. This is why education and awareness about respect and consent are so important.

“Too often, we see the consequences when those values are ignored. Whether that be in the form of harassment, intimidation, or violence. Every single person has the right to be respected, free from fear, and it is our collective responsibility to ensure that right is protected.

“The Ontario NDP will continue fighting for safer communities, stronger protections against gender-based violence, and a future where every woman and girl can live without fear.”
